Every parent wants the same thing, to understand their child and to support them in a way that actually helps, not just in the moment, but long-term.
For many families their child’s behaviour can feel confusing, exhausting, and sometimes overwhelming. You might find yourself asking:
Why is this happening? Why doesn’t what works for other children work for this child? And am I doing enough or doing the right thing?
My monthly webinars are designed to support parents build confidence in understanding behaviour, strengthen emotional regulation skills, and create more calm and connection. They are also appropriate for professionals supporting families. The more the merrier.
This introductory session, the first of many, is about gently refocusing the lens we use to understand behaviour. Instead of seeing behaviour as something to ‘fix’ or control, we’ll explore how behaviour is communication and what our children are telling us about their nervous systems, emotions, and unmet needs.
This session isn’t about perfection. It’s about understanding and compassion.
I’ll introduce my approach called Reframe and Regulate, a framework designed to help parents move from reacting to behaviour, to supporting emotional regulation in a way that works for the 24-hour child.
We’ll walk through four powerful reframes that can fundamentally change how you see your child and yourself as a parent.
The Four Reframes:
From Deficit to Difference
“Moving away from what our children can’t do, and toward understanding how their brains work differently and how that difference matters.
From Challenging Behaviour to Emotional Regulation
“When we shift from managing behaviour to supporting regulation, we stop asking ‘How do I stop this?’ and start asking ‘What does my child need right now?’”
From React to Respond
“Learning how to pause, even briefly, so our responses support safety and connection rather than escalating stress for our child and for us.”
From Critical to Curious
“Replacing self-blame, judgment, and frustration with curiosity about our child’s experience and our own nervous system.”
I believe support needs to be realistic, sustainable, and grounded in compassion.
